
The large Chinese titanium dioxide producer Jinpu Titanium will invest 10Bn RMB ($1.6Bn) in a multi-step expansion of its lithium iron phosphate production. With the plans, which in total will yield an annual addition of 200,000 tonnes of lithium iron phosphate, comes an investment in a 50,000 tonnes battery recycling plant.
The investments will be made in the Anhui region, west of Shanghai, and will meet the new national deployment requirements of "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality".
The recycling plant will be part of the last phase, with construction starting in 2026 for commissining in June 2027.
