
Daimler has confirmed its plans that they are planning a battery recycling plant. While details have not be revealed the group says operations are planned to start in 2023 and that the the plant will be located in Kuppenheim, Germany.
According to the blog Electrive the company already has a name, Licular GmbH, and will be jointly owned by Daimler Group and the newly spun off Daimler Trucks Holding.
Daimler has been a pioneer in the reuse of EV batteries through its subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Energy which have commissioned several energy storage systems using retired Daimler batteries in both Germany and China.
