The recycling and aspiring cathode producer Redwood Materials has entered in a partnership with Korean battery materials producer L&F.
The partnership includes a multi-year deal to use L&F's design and manufacturing technology at a Redwood's new Nevada facility dedicated for battery materials production. The deal is non-exclusive and is only covering North America and Europe. L&F is supplying cathode materials to all the big 3 battery makers in South Korea and Redwood will continue their development of cathode materials.
This was reported by Reuters.
Korean analysts estimates that the deal mean that L&F's cathode production in 2025 will increase from previous 200,000 tons to 350,000 tons.
