Redwood Materials which rapidly has become the largest lithium-ion battery recycler in the US has partnered with the largest e-waste processer, ERI. Through the agreement Redwood Materials will receive lithium-ion batteries from ERI while e-waste will go in the other direction.
As a part of the agreement Redwood Materials will also invest in ERI.
ERI is no stranger to lithium-ion batteries and has likely exported most of its current volume.
The agreement is only of many that has been disclosed lately by Redwood. The company also signed an agreement with e-bus maker Proterra, (e-) bike maker Specialized and the US-based part of Envision (AEIC), which makes batteries for Nissan.
