Renault is joining material company Solvay and recycler Veolia which through its subsidiary SARP Industries operates a battery recycling plant in Dieuze in France. Veolia and Solvay have already been working closely together in the partnership, which aims to develop a hydrometallurgical process for battery grade materials. Veolia already operates a hydrometallurgical plant which today produce material for non-battery applications.
The agreement is not really a huge surprise as Veolia for several years have been the exclusive recycler of Renault's batteries which enter the EOL channel controlled by Renault.
