The French material specialist Solvay and Eurodieuze, which is part of Veolia's subsidiary SARP Industries, also in France, are partnering in scaling up recycling for lithium-ion battery recycling. Eurodieuze which is one of the few companies in Europe with a hydrometallurgical process for battery recycling is already processing lithium-ion batteries but has so far not been producing battery grade materials.
Solvay's role in the consortium is to optimize the extraction and purification of critical metals such as cobalt, nickel and lithium and transform them into high-purity raw materials for new batteries, ready for another fresh start.Â
Eurodieuze has for a long time had the contract for recycling of Renault's electric vehicle batteries.
