Blue Whale Materials to build pre-processing plant in Oklahoma, USA

Blue Whale Materials, a battery recycling company with the plan to open several pre-processing facility in the US has announced its first location in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The company will commence operations by the end of 2024.

Blue Whale Materials, originally a trader in waste lithium-ion batteries,received an investment from private equity company Ara Partners in 2022 which set them on a path to establish five recycling plants in the US and Europe.

For the facility in Oklahoma which is owned by the city of Bartlesville the company has been awarded funding of $1M for improvement and a $750,000 rent credits the first 25 months. The plan is that the facility will generate 50 full-time employments.
