New bill for battery recycling in the US proposes annual funding of 30 MUSD to recycling initiatives

Senator Angus King (independant) has introduced a new bill to the US senate awarding 30MUSD per year over five years to institutes, universities and companies for various initiatives to improve battery recycling.


The bill suggest the Battery Recycling Prize, which was introduced in 2019, should receive additional funds. There are also a proposal for EPA to establish best practices of battery collection, a voluntary labelling program and a task force for extended producer responsibility.
