Shukuang Huan Lithium to build 100,000 tonnes per year battery recycling plant

Sichuan Shukuang Huan Lithium Technology, a subsidiary of has started the construction of hydrometallurgical battery recycling plant which ultimately will have a capacity of 100,000 tonnes. The first pase of the project which will focus on NMC batteries will have a capacity of 20,000 tonnes per year.

Shukuang Huan Lithium Technology, a subsidiary of Shudao New Materials will invest 1.67 billion RMB, equivalent to $229M in the plant which will produce battery grade nickel, manganese and cobalt sulphate and lithium carebonate. The first 20,000 tonnes per yar stage is expected to cost 399M RMB ($55M) with output of 7,610 tonnes of nickel sulphate, 2,610 tonnes of cobalt sulphate and 1,346 tonnes of lithium carbonate.

The finishing date is not yet reveiled but we estimate an opening of the first phase in 2025.
