
The Singapore-based e-waste and battery recycling company TES has signed an agreement with CATL, the world's largest battery manufacturer for after-sales services for CATL's battery products including reuse and recycling.
The services TES will deliver includes investigation into product failures, repair, and replacements, early warning, and alarm troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and software updates for battery management units and cell supervision circuits. The inititial reach of the agreements covers 12 countries in the Asian-Pacific region.
TES has already started supporting CATL in the collection and recycling of batteries in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and parts of Asia.
As a part of the agreement TES and CATL will establish a training center in Singapore and also collaborating on research on recycling of LFP batteries.
CATL is currently constructing a battery plant in Germany for which BASF is a key supplier of cathode material and the companis have also agreed to cooperate in recycling.
TES is about to commission its new recycling plant in Rotterdam in 2022 where the company initially will pre-process lithium-ion batteries for further processing by other material recovery processors.
