UK-based Envergia (Lincoln Storm) to open facility in Detroit, Michigan

Envergia, a company beloging to a a company sphere which also goes/has gone under the names Lincoln Storm and Storm Energia, has unveiled plans to establish recycling facility metropoliand Detroit, Michigan in the United States.
The new plant, is planned to be erected in the Detroit Gateway Industrial Center at I-94 and the Southfield Freeway in Oakland county and will specialize in pre-procssing of lithium-ion batteries.
The project is said to be backed by strategic collaborations with the City of Detroit and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). It is expected to generate around 52 jobs in engineering, manufacturing, and operations. The investment is said to be $33M.
Today the company Lincoln Storm operates a pre-processing plant in Sommerseth, United Kingdom. It has previously operatred a plant in Kent for shredding of battery production waste from AESC's Sunderland facility. The company has attempted to set up a pre-processing plant in Poland. The plans were withdrawn as a result of local protests. Envergia, which seems to be the new name of Storm Energia, today also include staff which previously were leading figures in the Swedish/Finnish recycler Urecycle. The operations is also linked to Fenix Battery Recycling which was liquidated as a result of a fire in their Scotland facility in early 2024. Fenix advised its customers to work with Lincoln Storm instead.
