Volvo Group establishes energy division

Volvo Group which includes the truck, bus, marine and construction equipment divisions from the brand has set up a new business area for the group's energy relating activies such as batteries and charging infrastructure.

The business area which will be an entity in Volvo Trucks will be providing batteries and charging solutions to the Volvo Group’s other business areas as well as offer used, remanufactured and refurbished batteries to customers for use across different applications.

Specialized energy entities with similar scope have previously been set up by Daimler, Nissan and Renault with activities spanning from second use and remanufacturing to vehicle-to-grid services.
